About the role
As IT Administrator you are responsible for the management, maintenance, and support of an organization's information technology infrastructure and systems. You will ensure the smooth operation of computer systems, networks, servers, and software applications to meet the needs of the organization's users. You will also provide technical support to employees, troubleshoot system issues, and implement security measures to protect data and information.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform regular maintenance tasks. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights within the organization's network and systems.
Ensure system backups are performed regularly and data recovery procedures are in place.
Maintain and manage the organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and internet connections.
Configure and troubleshoot network equipment, such as routers, switches, and firewalls. Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement necessary adjustments or upgrades.
Ensure network security measures are in place, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
Provide technical support and assistance to end-users regarding hardware, software, and network-related issues.
Respond to help desk tickets or IT support requests in a timely and professional manner.
Assist users with setting up and configuring new devices, software applications, and email accounts.
Conduct user training sessions to enhance their IT skills and knowledge.
Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect the organization's data and information.
Monitor system logs and perform security audits to identify and mitigate potential risks or vulnerabilities.
Update and patch software applications and operating systems to maintain system security.
Conduct regular backups and ensure disaster recovery plans are in place.
Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
Generate reports on system performance, security incidents, and support ticket resolution.
Required skills, abilities and experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT administration
Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Linux and other operating systems
Experience with cloud-based technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Google Workspace etc
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks
